Mixing Up Your Meals

The old saying “you are what you eat” has managed to last decades simply because of how true the statement is.

We asked Nerida for her take on meals and portions and here is what she said, “Since each food has its own individual enzyme chain, I believe it is better not to mix too many combinations in any single meal. For example, a plate of three vegetables is easier to digest than an equivalent portion of five vegetables. Also, I recommend eating small meals five or six times a day to keep the body fueled and energized without allowing the body’s sugar levels to fall. Be aware of cravings. Too much of any one thing is not good for our systems.”

A How To: The Glamourous Up Do

Whether she’s on camera or out and about running errands, Jessica always manages to look stunning! We were lucky enough to chat with the talented Robert Vetica who does Jessica’s hair for Fashion Star and get the how to on this glamorous up do. And the even better news? Robert says, the up do is “a no brainer for those that want a quick fabulous look for that special occasion!”  Here’s the how-to from Robert himself!

For the shine, blow dry your hair using Moroccanoil Treatment Light to ensure camera ready shine and flawless manageability. Then, pull your hair into a tight pony at the crown of your head, as I did for Jess here.

Now that you have your pony nice and secure, back comb that pony into a wild mess!  Spray as you back comb with Moroccanoil Luminous hairspray for that perfect mix of hold and flexibility.  No need to be worry about fly aways in this up do – it’s part of the look.

Next, tame down that pony with a paddle brush and make your desired shape, use hair pins and bobbie pins to secure.  Remember the profile here is major, so you want to be sure to have the right proportions. For reference, the height of the up do should align with the chin. To finish the look, give it a quick spray Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine.

The end result? Fabulous!
